Gregory Alan Mackie OAM is a South Australian cultural advocate and entrepreneur. He has helped promote the arts across Australia. He is the CEO of the History Trust of South Australia (since 2016) and founder of the Adelaide Festival of Ideas. He also ran Imprints Booksellers from 1984 to 2007.

Early life and business: He worked at Myer SA Stores (1979–82) and then managed Semprini's in Unley for a year. He studied at Flinders University and earned a BA in 1987. While studying, he joined Imprints and became co-owner with Gayle Miller, running the store from 1984 to 2007. In 1986 he helped start the Art Zone Gallery and ran it until 2000. He also helped establish the West End Association to boost the area’s profile.

Public service and councils: He was executive director of Arts SA in 2004, helped set up the Richard Llewellyn Arts and Disability Trust Fund in 2006, and served as deputy chief executive of the Department of the Premier and Cabinet from 2008 to 2011. He chaired the State Emergency Management Committee and led several arts and design initiatives. In 2012 he headed the Office for the Ageing and served briefly as interim director of the Adelaide Botanic Garden; he left SA Health in 2013 to start his own consultancy. He was elected to the Adelaide City Council (2000–2003) and again in a 2020 by-election, resigning in 2022. As of 2024, he remains the CEO of the History Trust of South Australia and continues to be involved in various cultural and community initiatives.
