Greens–European Free Alliance
The Greens/European Free Alliance (Greens/EFA) is a political group in the European Parliament. It brings together green and progressive parties, mainly from the European Green Party (EGP) and the European Free Alliance (EFA). It also includes members from Volt Europa and the European Pirate Party. The group was formed after the 1999 European elections for the 5th European Parliament. It leans from centre-left to left-wing and includes some national parties that are not part of another European group. Over the years, it has included parties from the Netherlands (Europe Transparent, 2004–2009), Sweden (2009–2014), Germany (from 2014), and the Czech Republic (from 2019). Volt Europa joined in June 2019. In June 2024, Bas Eickhout and Terry Reintke were elected co-presidents, and the bureau was elected on June 25, 2024. The group has 53 MEPs out of 720. The website is greens-efa.eu.
