Greenock and Port Glasgow (UK Parliament constituency)
Greenock and Port Glasgow was a burgh constituency of the UK Parliament from 1974 to 1997. It elected one Member of Parliament by the first-past-the-post system.
When created in 1974, it covered the burghs of Greenock and Port Glasgow in Renfrewshire. In 1975, local government reform created regions and districts, so the seat sat within the Inverclyde district of the Strathclyde region. From 1983 to 1997, after boundary changes, the constituency consisted of the Inverclyde District electoral divisions of Cartsdyke, Clune Brae, Greenock South West, Greenock West Central, Greenock West End, Port Glasgow East, Port Glasgow South and Port Glasgow West. In 1996 Inverclyde became a unitary council area, and in the 1997 general election the seat was abolished and divided between Greenock and Inverclyde and Renfrewshire West.
