2000–01 Azerbaijan Cup
The 2000–01 Azerbaijan Cup was the 10th edition of Azerbaijan’s annual cup competition. The final was on 25 May 2001. Twenty-four teams competed. Kapaz were the defending champions. The tournament had 40 matches and 129 goals (about 3.23 per game). Shafa won the cup, with Neftçi Baku as runners-up. The competition used two-legged rounds: the early ties were played on 16 and 23 December 2000, and the later ties on 18 and 22 May 2001. One match was moved from Baku to Sumqayit two hours before kick-off after a dispute over gate receipts between stadium officials and the Football Association.
