Emilio Muñoz Barrero, known as Emilio, is a Spanish former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Born on 16 January 1979 in Úbeda, Jaén, Andalusia, he is 1.87 m tall. Emilio began his senior career with his hometown club Úbeda CF in 1997, had a brief loan at Deportivo Alavés B, and joined Real Jaén in 1999. With Jaén he helped them win promotion in 2000 and made his professional debut on 20 May 2001 in a 2–2 draw away to Levante. He spent most of his time as a backup and left Jaén in January 2004. He then played for Villajoyosa CF (2004–2007) and later for Benidorm, Atlético Baleares, La Nucía, and Atlético Mancha Real. His later years included stints with Real Jaén (2017–2018), Atlético Porcuna (2018–2020 and 2023–2024), Torredonjimeno (2020–2021), and Begijar CF (2021–2022). Emilio spent his career mainly in Spain’s lower divisions before retiring.
