Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album
The Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album honors quality contemporary blues albums and is presented in the United States by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. The first award was in 1988, and the current holder (as of 2025) is Ruthie Foster for Mileage. The award was given from 1988 to 2011 and again from 2017 onward. In 1989 the honor went to a song rather than an album. From 2012 the category was merged with Best Traditional Blues Album to form Best Blues Album, but in 2016 the Grammys split them again into separate Traditional and Contemporary blues categories. The year listed is the ceremony year, for music released the previous year. The record for most wins in this category belongs to Buddy Guy and Keb' Mo with four wins each; followed by Robert Cray, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Taj Mahal and Fantastic Negrito with three wins each.
