Governor of Guizhou
Governor of Guizhou Province
The governor, or the Governor of the Guizhou Provincial People’s Government, is the head of Guizhou’s provincial government. They lead the province’s administration and make overall decisions for the government. The governor is a provincial-level official and is elected by the Guizhou Provincial People’s Congress, to whom they are responsible. A deputy governor, an executive vice governor, and several vice governors help them.
The governor often serves as deputy secretary of the Guizhou Communist Party Committee and as a member of the CCP Central Committee, making them the second-highest official in the province after the party secretary.
The current governor is Li Bingjun, who took office on 24 November 2020. The office was established in December 1949. The governor serves a five-year term and may be reappointed. The governor is nominated by the Presidium of the Guizhou Provincial People’s Congress and appointed by the Congress.
