Little Honey is the ninth studio album by Lucinda Williams, released October 14, 2008, on Lost Highway. It blends Americana, folk rock, alternative country and heartland rock, and runs 64 minutes. The album debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200, selling about 35,000 copies in its first week, Williams’ first Top 10. It earned a Grammy nomination in 2010 for Best Americana Album. Guests include Elvis Costello, Susanna Hoffs, Matthew Sweet and Charlie Louvin. Some songs come from earlier writing sessions, such as Circles and X’s (1985) and If Wishes Were Horses; Well Well Well dates from 1991. The first single was Real Love. Critics gave it strong reviews: Metacritic average 72/100; Spin called it her finest since Car Wheels on a Gravel Road; Rolling Stone gave 4/5 stars, praising If Wishes Were Horses; AllMusic called it polished and contemporary with roots-rock and blues. All songs are written by Williams unless noted. A digital-only EP with four live tracks (three covers and one original) was released October 28, 2008.
