Given Katuta Mwelwa (born 6 March 1969 in Chiengi, then part of Nchelenge District) is a Zambian politician and the Member of Parliament for Chiengi. She was first elected in 2016 as the only Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) candidate in Chiengi, defeating the ruling Patriotic Front. She was re-elected in 2021 as an Independent, becoming the only female independent MP in a male‑dominated field. Katuta has served on several parliamentary committees, including Cabinet Affairs and Transport and Communications, and she chaired Select Committees that reviewed the 2016 constitution and the appointment of judges. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Chalimbana University in 2024 and received an Honorary Doctorate in Public Administration from the London Graduate School of the Commonwealth University in 2022. She won the African Women Summit award in 2023. She is married to Lawrence Mwelwa, a former vice-chancellor of Chreso University.
