Elizabeth Shortino
Elizabeth Shortino is an American economist who is the nominee to be the United States executive director at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). She earned a BA in political science and business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MS in international affairs from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies, where she focused on quantitative methods and economic theory. Shortino began her career as a management consultant with Capgemini and Ernst & Young. For 17 years, she has worked in the Office of Management and Budget, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, and the Office of the U.S. Executive Director at the IMF.
