Gilbert Belin (22 October 1927 – 14 February 2020) was a French politician and sculptor. He studied at the École supérieure d'art de Clermont Métropole in Clermont-Ferrand and became a teacher of plastic arts in Brassac-les-Mines and Saint-Éloy-les-Mines. He also lectured at his art school in the 1980s and was active with the Société des Artistes d'Auvergne, running workshops and exhibiting his work locally.

Belin began his political career in the 1970s as a general councillor for the Canton of Jumeaux, a role he held until his retirement in 2001. He served as mayor of Brassac-les-Mines from 1971 to 2001. He was a Senator for the Puy-de-Dôme from 1974 to 1983, and again from 1988 to 1992. In 1988, he returned to national politics in the Rocard government as a Minister of State in the Economy and Finance ministry. He left the Senate in 1992 and continued to be active in local politics until 2001.

A member of the Socialist Party, Belin was born in Clermont-Ferrand and died in 2020 at the age of 92.
