Georgy Razumovsky
Georgy Petrovich Razumovsky, born January 19, 1936 in Krasnodar, is a Soviet politician who rose to high rank in the Communist Party. A protégé of Mikhail Gorbachev, he held key party-building roles: from 1985 to 1990 he headed the Central Committee’s Party Building and Cadre Work Department, and from 1988 to 1990 he chaired the Commission on Party Building and Cadre Work. He also served as First Secretary of the Krasnodar Regional Committee from 1983 to 1985. In the late 1980s he held top party positions: candidate member of the 27th Politburo (1988–1990), member of the 27th Secretariat (1986–1990), and full member of the 27th Central Committee (1986–1990).
