Geir Rönning (born 5 November 1962) is a Norwegian‑Finnish singer and songwriter from Ålesund. He moved to Oslo in the 1980s, then Stockholm to pursue music, and later settled in Finland, where he represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with the ballad Why?. He finished 18th in the Kyiv semi‑final. He later tried to represent Norway in Melodi Grand Prix 2006 with Jorun Erdal, finishing fourth. In 2010 he again aimed for Eurovision, this time for Finland, and he also reached the Swedish Idol 2010 finals, finishing seventh. He has often performed with Swedish pianist Robert Wells in the Rhapsody in Rock shows and lives in Kauniainen, Finland.

Geir began his career as a composer in 1994, writing Gi alt vi har for Jahn Teigen in Melodi Grand Prix 1994 and contributing songs to Melodi Grand Prix through 1997. Around 2000 he moved to Finland and became the lead singer of a five‑member rock ’n’ roll band that included a guitarist from the Leningrad Cowboys. He has toured beyond the Nordic countries, with gigs in Albania, Romania, England and the United States.
