The Gaziantep Zoo is in Gaziantep, southeastern Turkey. It opened in 2001 and is run by the city government. The zoo sits in the Burç Nature Park in Şahinbey district and covers about 1,000 decares (1.0 square kilometer). It is one of the largest zoos by area in Turkey and drew about five million visitors in 2022.

In 2018, the zoo opened a Safari Park, the first of its kind in Turkey, on about 350 decares. It features African animals and buses for visitors to ride around. The safari park has around 700 animals from 50 species.

The Zoology and Nature Museum occupies 700 square meters and shows taxidermy, fossils, and other exhibits. It includes 120 bone specimens from 50 species, 427 winged animals from 128 species, 80 reptiles, 78 sea creatures, and seven giant skeletons.

Inside the Wildlife Protection Area, you’ll find a monkey house called Chimpanzee Island (about 5 decares) with summer and winter sections and around 30 monkeys. The predator section houses lions, tigers, leopards, jaguars, pumas, bears, and wolves, with heated winter areas. Hoofed animals like giraffes, camels, zebras, kangaroos, horses, and yaks have large enclosures and winter shelters for other animals such as wild goats, wild sheep, deer, gazelles, and mouflon.

The bird area includes many cages with 90 species and 929 birds. The zoo has a large bird section with space to fly and several tropical sections that are heated in winter.

The aquarium section features 21 tanks with about 450 tons of water, 74 species, and roughly 2,700 fish.

The zoo is open year-round. In April–September, hours are 09:00–18:00, and in October–March, hours are 08:00–17:00. Ticket prices include a student rate of 20 Turkish lira (about 0.60 USD), which is half the adult price.
