Stanford Samuels Jr.
Stanford Samuels Jr. is an American former professional football cornerback and the recruiting coordinator for the Louisville Cardinals. He was born on July 27, 1980, in Miami, Florida, and played college football at Florida State University, where he helped win the 1999 national championship and earned first-team All-ACC honors in 2003.
Samuels went undrafted in 2004 but signed with the Indianapolis Colts. He later played in the Canadian Football League for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Edmonton Eskimos, and Montreal Alouettes, winning the Grey Cup in 2009 with Montreal. Highlights include leading Winnipeg in fumble recoveries in 2008 and recording a few interceptions.
He began coaching in 2019 at Florida State as a defensive assistant, then moved to Florida Atlantic as cornerbacks coach from 2020 to 2022. In 2022 he joined Louisville as cornerbacks coach and recruiting coordinator.
A product of Miami's Carol City High School, Samuels majored in social sciences at Florida State. He has two sons, Stanford Samuels III and Semaj Samuels.
