Gåsvær
Gåsvær is a group of islands in Herøy Municipality, Nordland, Norway. It lies about 15 kilometers northwest of Silvalen. The main islands are Nordgåsvær, Sørgåsvær, Flatøya, and Innerodden. Gåsvær Chapel is on Sørgåsvær. Ytterholmen Lighthouse is about 15 kilometers to the southwest. The last permanent residents left in 1990, and ferry service ended in the summer of 2007. Many of the remaining houses are now used as holiday homes. The islands were once home to people who fished and ran small farms. In 2024, electricity stopped because the undersea power cable was damaged, and there is no agreement on repairing or replacing the 60-year-old cable.
