Ding Guangquan
Ding Guangquan was a Chinese comedian born on 14 October 1944 in Beijing. He specialized in Xiangsheng (crosstalk), a traditional form of Chinese comedy. He worked as a senior actor with the China Coal-Mine Art Troupe and taught more than 40 students. Some of his foreign students became famous on the Chinese stage, such as Mark Rowswell (Dashan), Julien Guadfroy, Jesse Appell (艾杰西), and Liam Bates (Li Mu). Ding studied Xiangsheng under the master Hou Baolin from 1973. He passed away on 18 January 2018 at the age of 73.
