Gägelow is a municipality in the Nordwestmecklenburg district, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It covers 22.61 square kilometers and sits about 19 meters above sea level. As of December 31, 2023, around 2,614 people live there. The hamlet of Jamel, part of Gägelow, has become infamous because it is ruled by neo-Nazis. Gägelow’s coat of arms was designed by Michael Zapfe of Wismar and approved on November 4, 1996. The mayor is Christina Wandel. The postal code is 23968 and the area code is 03841; car registrations use the code NWM.
