Futsal in England is growing. It is governed by The Football Association through its delivery partner, England Futsal Limited.

England has a men’s national futsal team, formed in 2003. After a break from 2020 to 2024, the team returned in December 2024 to begin UEFA European Futsal Championship qualifying. The women’s national futsal team started in 2024, with their first matches in October that year.

Domestically, the National Futsal Series was launched in 2019 and runs as the top two tiers for both men and women. The National Futsal League began in 2008 and is now the men’s third-tier competition, featuring 26 teams across four conferences, with a season-ending tournament to decide the champions.

Futsal is popular with players of all ages, including university students. The sport’s roots in England go back to the Pendle Futsal League in 1990, with more teams and cross-border events developing through the 1990s. The FA has supported cups and the development of refereeing and coaching to help England compete internationally.
