Peter Sampson, known as THePETEBOX, is a British beatboxer from Nottingham who uses a loop pedal to build songs live from his voice. He won BBC Radio 1’s beatbox championship in 2005 and received a Channel 4 Talent Award. THePETEBOX has toured the UK, Africa, France, Norway and the Czech Republic, and performed at major festivals such as Isle of Wight, Bestival, V, Leeds, Reading, Latitude, Creamfields and Glastonbury. In 2007 he appeared in a Movistar mobile phones advert in Mexico. He has been a member of the bands Swimming and WeShowUpOnRadar. He featured in TV coverage of the 2009 World Free Running Championships and appeared on ITV’s Skillicious (2009) and Odd One In (2010). He also toured with the dance group Diversity in 2010. His debut album Future Loops was released on 11 April 2012; it’s a live studio album recorded and mixed in real time, with a performance video of the recordings. In 2023, THePETEBOX took part in The Voice UK, joining Team will.i.am and finishing as a semi-finalist.
