Freedom Park, Bengaluru
Freedom Park is in Bengaluru’s central business district in Karnataka, India. It used to be the Central Jail and opened to the public in November 2008. Part of the park is kept for protests. During India’s 1975 Emergency, opposition leaders such as Atal Bihari Vajpayee and L. K. Advani were jailed there. The park also hosted Anna Hazare’s indefinite fast organized by India Against Corruption to push for the Lok Pal bill.
