Franco Abbina
Franco Abbina (also credited as Franco Abbine or Franco Abbiana) was an Italian actor born March 31, 1934, in Rome. He came from a family with Spanish roots. Before acting, he studied economics and music. He began acting in the early 1960s as a supporting actor and often worked with Alberto Sordi. His notable film roles include Dr. Nisticò in Be Sick... It's Free (1968) and Dr. Guido Tersilli in Il Prof. Dott. Guido Tersilli, primario della clinica Villa Celeste, convenzionata con le mutue (1969). He played Prince Filippo Spada in The Conspirators (1969). In 1970 he appeared in Let's Have a Riot directed by Luigi Zampa, but his scene was cut for censorship, and the film was released without it after being reworked. Abbina acted in about fifteen parts across cinema, television, and stage, and retired in the first half of the 1970s. After retiring, he began painting, illustrated a poetry book by Alda Merini, and had an exhibition in Rome.
