Tachytes distinctus is a species of square-headed wasp in the Crabronidae family. It belongs to the animal kingdom, arthropod phylum, insect class, and the order Hymenoptera. This wasp is found in the Caribbean region and North America. It was first described in 1856 by F. Smith, and its binomial name is Tachytes distinctus F. Smith, 1856. The species has several former names (synonyms), including Larra fulvipes, Tachytes austrinus, Tachytes contractus, Tachytes elongatus, Tachytes fulvipes, and Tachytes yucatanensis. There are two recognised subspecies.
