Fola David
Fola David is the professional name of Adefemi Gbadamosi, born on September 5, 1993. He is a Nigerian medical doctor who also works as a visual and hyper-realism artist. He is known for speed painting, where he paints on stage with the canvas upside down or spinning.
He has painted for many famous people, including the Ooni of Ife and international artists such as Patoranking, Trey Songz, and others. His art often challenges stereotypes about skin disorders by depicting skin imperfections like wrinkles, vitiligo, freckles, stretch marks, and ichthyosis to raise medical awareness through the Fola David Foundation. In November 2024, he started Evvdee Art Academy to improve art education.
He holds a Medicine and Surgery degree from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos. On July 16, 2024, he began an effort to create the world’s largest drawing by an individual. The artwork, titled “The Unity of Diversity,” covered a 1,004.7 square meter canvas at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos and featured a map of Nigeria and its diverse cultures. It was completed on July 21, 2024. On November 14, 2024, Guinness World Records recognized it as the largest drawing by an individual, surpassing the previous record of 629.98 square meters.
He has received several awards and recognitions: he was nominated for The Future Awards Africa Prize for Art & Culture in 2017, spoke at TEDxBellsTech at Bells University in 2018, and won The Future Awards Africa Prize for Young Person of the Year in 2025.
