Stanisław Kostka Zamoyski
Stanisław Kostka Zamoyski (13 January 1775 – 2 April 1856) was a Polish nobleman, politician, and patron of the arts from the Zamoyski family. He was the head of the Zamość estates and played a leading role in politics of his time. In 1809 he led Galicia’s Provisional Government. From 1810 to 1831 he served as Senator-Voivode of the Duchy of Warsaw and later of the Congress Kingdom of Poland. He founded the Zamoyski Library and chaired the Agricultural Society, and he was awarded the Order of the White Eagle in 1812. In 1822 he became the chairman of the Senate of the Congress Kingdom. He married Princess Zofia Czartoryska in Puławy in 1798. During the November Uprising in 1831, he was absent from a Senate meeting and was removed from the Senate by Parliament that year. He died in Vienna.
