Florin Popescu (born 30 August 1974 in Iancu Jianu, Olt) is a Romanian sprint canoeist who competed from the mid-1990s to 2005. At the Sydney 2000 Olympics, he won two medals with teammate Mitică Pricop: a gold in the C-2 1000 m and a bronze in the C-2 500 m.

Popescu won seven world championship gold medals (nineteen world medals in total) and seven European championship golds, making him the most successful Romanian paddler of modern times. He retired after the 2005 season, following his seventh world title in Zagreb in the C-4 500 m event.

He is 183 cm tall and weighed about 79 kg during his racing career. His interests include football, motor racing and handball. He was named Romanian Sportsman of the Year in 1993.
