Archil Talakvadze
Archil Talakvadze (Georgian: არჩილ თალაკვაძე) was born on January 16, 1983, in Ozurgeti, Georgia. He is a Georgian Dream politician who served as Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia from June 25, 2019, to April 24, 2021. He led the Georgian Dream parliamentary majority from November 18, 2016, to June 24, 2019, and has been a member of Parliament since 2016.
Earlier in his career, Talakvadze held deputy minister positions: Deputy Minister of Corrections (2012–2014) and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs (2014–2016). He also worked as a Senior Advisor to the Public Defender (2007–2010) and as Deputy Director of USAID Good Governance in Georgia (2011–2012).
Education and training include graduating from Ozurgeti Public School No. 1, earning a degree from Tbilisi State Medical University in public health and management (2006), studying at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs, and completing the Executive Management Program at the London School of Economics in 2015.
Talakvadze endorsed Kakha Kaladze in the 2017 Tbilisi mayoral race. He is married to Ketevan Bubuteishvili and they have two children.
