Flaskebekk
Flaskebekk is a village in Nesodden municipality in Akershus county, Norway. It sits at the northwestern tip of the Nesoddtangen peninsula, just south of Oslo, looking out over the Oslofjord toward Oslo, Bærum and Asker in the distance. It borders Tangen to the north, Bjørnemyr to the south, and Skoklefall to the east.
Flaskebekk is known for Strandpromenaden, a seaside promenade along the coast south of Nordre Flaskebekk pier. Along the promenade are small bath houses owned by local families. In the summer, a ferry on the Oslo–Drøbak route stops at Nordre Flaskebekk pier.
During World War II, Flaskebekk played a role in the Norwegian resistance. Corncrake, a clandestine Milorg radio station, was located in a summer house in Flaskebekk. German soldiers ambushed the station on April 4, 1944; three undercover agents—Leif Kyrre Karlsen, Ivar William Wagle, and Tell Christian Wagle—died. A small plaque at Flaskebekkveien commemorates the radio station.
The village is located at coordinates about 59.85°N, 10.65°E. It lies in Norway, in the Østlandet region, Akershus county, Nesodden municipality. Time zones are CET (UTC+1) and CEST (UTC+2) in summer.
