Flóres saga konungs (svarta) ok sona hans
Flóres saga konungs (svarta) ok sona hans is a medieval Icelandic romance from Iceland, probably written in the late 14th century. It tells of the three sons of King Flóres of Traktía and Princess Elína of Kartagía. Flóres abducted Elína, who later bore him three children. While Flóres is away, Elína and the children are brought home by her father, but their ship disappears and they are presumed dead; Flóres remarries. When Flóres refuses Duke Sintram as a suitor for a daughter of his second marriage, Sintram declares war. Flóres’s army includes his own sons, who are captured by their father. The night before their planned execution, they tell each other their life stories; the king overhears and realizes they are his sons, and they reconcile. Scholars Kalinke and Mitchell note that the saga survives in several manuscripts.
