My Fake Fiancé is a 2009 American television movie starring Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence. It aired on ABC Family on April 19, 2009. The story follows Jennifer Verti, who has spent her savings on a house and loses everything when a moving van is stolen. Vince, a smooth-talking gambler who owes money to a debt collector, meets Jennifer at a wedding. They start out disliking each other but realize they could gain money by pretending to be a couple and getting wedding gifts.

Jennifer asks Vince to pretend to be her fiancé. He agrees. While taking care of her sister's two kids, Jennifer sees how good Vince is with children. As their fake romance grows, they face real feelings and the complications of money and family. Vince’s debt and his father’s help complicate things, but they find a way to fund the wedding. In the end, Jennifer’s feelings become real and she decides to marry Vince for real.

At the rehearsal, Jennifer considers canceling, but a heartfelt speech from her sister and Vince’s reminders of what’s at stake push her to go through with it. At the ceremony, Vince reads vows Jennifer wrote, then tears them up and speaks from the heart, telling her he loves her. They marry, sharing a genuine connection.

The movie was released on Region 1 DVD on April 20, 2010. It drew strong viewership at premiere (about 3.6 million) and the encore (2.8 million). The on-screen chemistry between Hart and Lawrence led ABC Family to create a spin-off series, Melissa & Joey, which premiered in August 2010.
