Fernando Peres
Fernando Peres da Silva, known as Peres, was a Portuguese footballer and later manager. He was born on 8 January 1943 in Algés, near Lisbon, and died on 10 February 2019 in Lisbon at the age of 76. He played as a left winger.

In total, he made about 314 senior appearances and scored 91 goals. With Sporting CP, he won four major titles, including two league championships. He also won the Brazilian national championship in 1974 with Vasco da Gama and a regional title with Sport Club do Recife. He retired from playing at 33.
International career:
Peres earned 27 caps for Portugal and scored 4 goals between 1964 and 1972. He debuted on 4 June 1964 in a 1–1 friendly against England, scoring his country’s goal, and his last appearance was on 9 June 1972 in the Brazil Independence Cup final. He was included in Portugal’s squad for the 1966 FIFA World Cup but did not play.
