Emmanouil Zymvrakakis (Gendarmerie general)
Emmanouil Zymvrakakis (c. 1856–1931) was a Greek gendarmerie officer from Crete. He was the son of Major General Ioannis Zymvrakakis and joined the Hellenic Gendarmerie, rising through the ranks to Major General. A strong Venizelist, he served as chief of the Athens police and later as Commanding General of the Gendarmerie. He retired in 1921 with the rank of Lieutenant General. In 1923 he was elected Member of Parliament for Athens-Piraeus. He died at his home in Kifissia in 1931.
