Fathabad, Jiroft
Fathabad (فتح اباد), also Romanized as Fatḥābād and known as Gāvkosh, is a village in Esfandaqeh Rural District, in the Central District of Jiroft County, Kerman Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 220 people in 58 families. The village is famous for Fathabad Garden, located about 16 km northwest of Kerman. Historians note that Fathabad Garden uses a design pattern similar to Shazdeh Garden in Mahan. The area is one of several sites in the district proposed as the location of the lost city Alexandria Carmania, believed to have been founded by Alexander the Great.
