FC Novokuznetsk
FC Novokuznetsk, nicknamed Kuznya and MetKuz, is a Russian football club from Novokuznetsk. It was founded in 1946 and plays at Metallurg Stadium, which seats about 8,500. The team’s colors are green shirts, white shorts and green socks. They competed in the Amateur Football League’s PFL in 2015–16 before dropping out.
History: After finishing 18th in 2005, they were relegated to the Second Division, but licensing issues for other clubs kept them in higher competition that season. In 2012/13 they played in the second tier as FC Metallurg-Kuzbass Novokuznetsk but left the league due to money problems. They won their Amateur League zone in 2013/14 and moved up to the third tier (PFL) for 2014/15, renaming Metallurg. Before the 2015/16 season they became FC Novokuznetsk again. In the 2015/16 winter break they left the PFL due to lack of funds and returned to amateur football.
