Erkki Ossi Olavi Pulliainen (23 June 1938 – 22 August 2022) was a Finnish biologist and Green League politician. He was elected to the Finnish Parliament in 1987 and served until 2011. He was also a member of the Oulu city council from 1985 to 1999.

Pulliainen was born in Varkaus, Finland. He held a Ph.D. in zoology and a master’s degree in agriculture and forestry. He was a professor of zoology at the University of Oulu and later the dean of the faculty of science. He also worked as a researcher at the University of Helsinki, focusing on large carnivores in the Nordic region.

He published more than 500 scientific articles and over 30 books. He was an expert on wolves and dogs and was popularly known as “Susi” (Wolf) Pulliainen.

In his personal life, he was married to Riitta Haaranen. They had three children: Annariina (born 1978), Annamiina (born 1981), and Rauli (born 1983). He also had two children from a previous marriage, Harri (born 1962) and Virpi (born 1963).
