Elbow Valley is a rural locality in the Southern Downs Region of Queensland, Australia, right on the border with New South Wales. It covers about 160 square kilometers and had a population of 127 people at the 2021 census.

The name Elbow Valley is believed to come from the Elbow River, which was named by botanist and explorer Allan Cunningham in 1827.

Location and transport
Elbow Valley is roughly 28 km southeast of Warwick, 48 km northeast of Stanthorpe, 111 km south of Toowoomba, and 183 km southwest of Brisbane.

Education
There are no schools in Elbow Valley. The nearest government primary schools are Murray’s Bridge State School (Murrays Bridge), Killarney State School (Killarney), and Dalveen State School (Dalveen). For secondary education, the nearest options are Killarney State School (to Year 10), Warwick State High School (to Year 12) in Warwick, and Stanthorpe State High School (to Year 12) in Stanthorpe.

Heritage and history
Elbow Valley has a history of small local schools. Elbow Valley Provisional/State School operated at various sites from 1882 to 1946. The Sacred Heart Catholic Church opened in 1906 and is listed on the Southern Downs Local Heritage Register; it closed in 1982 and is now used as a house. Westmore State School operated from 1916 to 1923 near Westmore Road, in connection with the nearby Westmore Cheese factory.
