Sayaka Shionoya
Sayaka Shionoya (塩ノ谷 早耶香) was born on March 12, 1994, in Moji-ku, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. She is a former J-pop singer who was represented by LDH and signed to King Records. Her active years were 2013 to 2017.
She started her path to debut with auditions. In 2011 she joined Exile Presents Vocal Battle Audition 3 –For Girls– and became a finalist in the Flower vocal division from about 30,000 applicants, but she did not win. She then studied at the Exile Professional Gym (EXPG) in Fukuoka.
In 2012 she entered King Records’ Dream Vocal Audition, part of the company’s 80th Anniversary celebrations. From more than 10,000 candidates, she won one of the three Grand Prix prizes, the “Dream Vocalist Loved by ViVi,” which led to her debut.
In August 2012 her single reached Tokyo. On October 13, 2012, at the Tokyo Girls Collection in Saitama Super Arena, she was highlighted as a standout Grand Prix winner and performed in front of about 30,000 people as part of the event.
On January 23, 2013, Sayaka Shionoya made her major debut with the single “Dear Heaven.” She announced her retirement from the entertainment industry on May 18, 2017.
