Elasmia cave
Elasmia cave is a species of moth in the Notodontidae family. It is found in New Mexico and Texas in the United States, and possibly in Mexico. Adults are active from April to early October. The name “cave” refers to Carlsbad Caverns National Park, which is the place where the species was first discovered. The acronym CAVE is used by the National Park Service for Carlsbad Caverns. The binomial name is Elasmia cave, described by Metzler in 2011.
