El Castillo del Terror (December 2008)
The December 21, 2008 El Castillo del Terror was a major IWRG wrestling show held at Arena Naucalpan in Naucalpan, State of Mexico. It was the ninth El Castillo del Terror event and the second show of that name in 2008.
Main event: The Castillo del Terror steel cage match required the last wrestler left in the cage to unmask or have his hair shaved under Lucha de Apuestas rules. Arlequín ended up the last in the cage after Oficial 911 climbed out first. Since Arlequín had already been forced to unmask at the November 2, 2008 show, he had his hair shaved instead.
Other matches: The night had four additional matches. Highlights included Eragon defeating Soldado del Diablo two falls to one; Gemelo Fantastico I & II defeating Fantasma de la Ópera & Némesis; a six-man tag where Cerebro Negro’s team won after he cheated by pulling Péndulo’s mask; and Los Capos Junior losing a tag team match to Head Hunter A and El Veneno by disqualification after a referee was hit.
Background: IWRG has a long-running El Castillo del Terror tradition around the Day of the Dead. The 2008 December show was the ninth overall and notable for being the first year IWRG held two El Castillo del Terror events in the same year.
Aftermath: After the hair shave, Arlequín teamed with two similarly dressed partners, Arlequín Rojo and Arlequín Verde, with Manuel Mejía becoming Arlequín Amarillo, and they performed as Los Arlequíns.
