Eetu Sopanen
Eetu Sopanen (born 24 April 1996 in Kouvola, Finland) is a Finnish former ice hockey defenceman. He is 196 cm tall, weighs 102 kg, and shoots right. He last played for KalPa in Liiga, after previously playing for Lahti Pelicans. He went undrafted in the NHL. Sopanen began his Liiga career with the Pelicans in the 2014-15 season and moved to KalPa for 2016-17. He was part of Finland’s gold-medal U20 team at the 2016 World Junior Championship, but played only three games due to a knee injury. His professional career ended after a Liiga game between KalPa and SaiPa when he fell and hit his head on a teammate’s foot, at age 20.
