Ed West (American football)
Ed West, whose full name is Edward Lee West III and who was nicknamed "the Toolbox," is a former American football tight end who played in the NFL. He was born on August 2, 1961, in Colbert County, Alabama. He attended Colbert County High School in Leighton, Alabama, and played college football at Auburn from 1980 to 1983. He stood 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighed 250 pounds.
West went undrafted in 1984 but joined the Green Bay Packers, where he played from 1984 to 1994. He then spent time with the Indianapolis Colts in 1995 (offseason/practice squad), and played for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1995 to 1996, finishing his career with the Atlanta Falcons in 1997.
Over 14 NFL seasons, West appeared in over 200 games and finished with 237 receptions, 2,665 receiving yards, and 27 touchdowns.
