Doe Valley, Tennessee
Doe Valley is a small, unincorporated community in Johnson County, Tennessee. It sits along State Route 67, between Mountain City and Butler, near the communities of Pandora and Dewey. The Tennessee Department of Corrections runs the Northeast Correctional Complex there. Doe Valley lies in the upper Doe Creek Valley, with the Iron Mountains to the north and Doe Mountain to the south. The area hosts Johnson County-Chamber Park, which holds an annual fair, rodeo, and other events. It’s about 20 minutes from Watauga Lake and other TVA and Cherokee National Forest recreation areas. Doe Elementary School serves preschool through sixth grade. Fire protection is provided by the Doe Valley Volunteer Fire Department, and policing by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department.
