Diplacodes lefebvrii

Diplacodes lefebvrii is a small dragonfly in the Libellulidae family, commonly called the black percher or black ground skimmer. It is listed as Least Concern by the IUCN and is native to most of Africa and southern Eurasia, living in many freshwater habitats.

Adults have dark brown eyes on top and a violaceous color underneath. The body and legs are black in fully mature individuals, while sub-adults may show yellow marks on the sides of the thorax and yellow spots on abdomen segments 4–8. This species can be found in open wastelands as well as various freshwater areas.
