Distill (album)
Distill is the fourth album by American composer Bill Laswell, released in 1996 under the name Divination. The ambient double album runs 102 minutes and 34 seconds and was recorded at Greenpoint Studio in Brooklyn, New York. It was released by Sub Meta and produced by Anton Fier, Mick Harris, Haruomi Hosono, Tetsu Inoue, Thomas Köner, Bill Laswell, Pete Namlook, and Paul Schütze. In Divination’s discography, Distill follows Akasha (1995) and precedes Sacrifice (1998). In Laswell’s broader discography, it sits after Off World One (1996) and before Interpieces Organization (1996). The release date was February 20, 1996.
