Diego Fabián Polenta Musetti (born 6 February 1992) is a Uruguayan former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. Born in Montevideo, he began with Danubio before joining Genoa’s youth system in 2008. He made his first-team debut for Genoa in 2011 and spent time on loan at Bari (2011–2014) and Nacional (2014–2015).

In 2015 he joined Nacional permanently, later becoming captain and helping the club win the Uruguayan Primera División in 2014–15 and 2016. He was named the league’s Defensive Player of the Year for 2014–15 and won the Torneo Intermedio Final in 2017. In 2019 he moved to LA Galaxy in Major League Soccer, scoring his first Galaxy goal on 19 April 2019 against Houston Dynamo.

Polenta also played for Olimpia in Paraguay (2020–2021) and had stints with Nacional (2021–2022 and 2023–2025), Cerro Largo (2022–2023), and a loan to Unión in 2022. Internationally, he represented Uruguay at youth levels (U15, U17, U20) and captained the U20 side; he played for the Uruguay Olympic team at London 2012 and was called up to the senior squad in 2016, though he did not earn a cap. He is mainly a central defender but can also play at left-back. Polenta retired from professional football on 4 March 2025.
