Virtue Has Few Friends is the only EP released by the deathcore band A Thousand Times Repent. It came out on March 11, 2008, and was recorded during 2007–2008. The EP lasts about 28 minutes and was released by Tribunal Records. The band stopped after losing their drummer and not finding a replacement. The track Curses! Another Shape-Shifting Wraith includes a clip from the Ninjai cartoon.

critics and listeners noted its heavy, technical style. AllMusic praised the aggressive riffs, gritty vocals, and complex rhythms, highlighting the unusual three-guitar setup and a surprising calmer moment on A Band of Hunters Stalk in Edo. The overall message is that the music is brutal more than melodic.

Ultimate Guitar said the album has strong production and powerful guitars and drums. Each song has standout moments, and the band shows a good balance of groove and technicality, though the style isn’t highly innovative.

Sputnik Music felt the band offers something original by mixing tech deathcore with progressive parts. They suggested the music could be even stronger if the band reduced some breakdowns.

Encyclopedia Metallum praised how the lyrics mix Christian themes with harsh views of evil, and commended the breakdowns. It also noted the band’s breakup is disappointing, but the EP remains a favorite from a promising group.

Absolute Punk found the musicianship talented and the vocalist clean, but thought the metalcore parts were overdone. The clean sections helped, and the release is still worth checking out for metalcore fans.

Josh from IVM loved the blend of beauty and brutality, calling Virtue Has Few Friends one of his top albums of 2007. He mentioned that Tribunal re-released it on March 11 and encouraged fans to buy this impressive debut.
