Dhulikhel Medical Institute
Dhulikhel Medical Institute (DMI) is a private health training school in Dhulikhel, Nepal. It started in 1998 through a partnership of Dhulikhel Hospital, Kathmandu University, and Til Ganga Eye Care Centre, with support from DANIDA and the Dhulikhel Municipality Quality Education Project. DMI is an autonomous institution that trains health workers in various fields and is affiliated with Kathmandu University for its Diploma in Health Sciences, awarded after a three-year program. The institute is led by Prof. Regina Singh and managed by the Municipality of Dhulikhel, NepaliMed, and the Dhulikhel Health Service Association. The first graduation was in January 2002, with 11 graduates: 4 in Nursing, 6 in General Medicine, and 1 in Clinical Health Laboratory. Today, about 300 students study across nursing, general medicine, clinical health laboratory, ophthalmology, and physiotherapy. Graduates work in Nepal and in other countries. The motto is Inspired by Life. The campus is urban. The Alumni group is the Society of Ex-Manipal Students (SEMS-Pokhara). Website: kusms.edu.np.
