Denis Tahirović
Denis Tahirović, born 16 July 1985, is a Croatian football manager and former midfielder. He started at SG Wattenscheid 09 as a youth player and began coaching there early. He later played for Schalke 04 II, NK Primorje (10 league appearances, 1 goal), NK Virovitica, Barcsi SC, FK Sloboda Tuzla, and NK Gradina Srebrenik.
After retiring as a player, he returned to Germany to coach in the amateur leagues. He was SG Wattenscheid 09’s U19 head coach from 2011 to 2013. In 2013 he became assistant coach at FC Kray and served as interim head coach for the rest of the 2013–14 season. He left FC Kray in 2015. In 2016 he joined SSVg Velbert as an assistant to Michael Lorenz, but they were released after a month. He then became head coach of FSV Duisburg in September 2016, stepped back in August 2017, and returned in January 2018 as sporting director. After René Lewejohann was fired in January 2018, Tahirović coached Duisburg to the end of the season and helped secure promotion to the Oberliga, continuing as sporting director.
