Dominique Herr
Dominique Herr (born 25 October 1965 in Basel) is a Swiss former footballer who played as a defensive midfielder in the 1980s and 1990s. He started his career with FC Basel, turning professional for the 1985–86 season. He made his league debut on 9 December 1984 in a 1–0 win over Young Boys. Herr played for Basel from 1984 to 1988, making 76 league appearances and scoring 2 goals (111 games for Basel in all competitions).
In 1988 he moved to Lausanne-Sport, where he stayed until 1992, making 133 league appearances and scoring 9 goals. In 1992 he joined Swiss champions Sion, where he won the Swiss Cup in 1995 and 1996. An injury forced him to retire in 1996 at the age of 30.
Overall, Herr had 320 league appearances and 16 league goals in his club career. Internationally, he earned 52 caps for Switzerland and scored 4 goals between 1989 and 1995, including four appearances at the 1994 FIFA World Cup.
