Quinn Priester
Quinn Priester, born September 15, 2000, in Glendale Heights, Illinois, is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers. He bats and throws right-handed and wears No. 46 for Milwaukee.
He starred at Cary-Grove High School, where he played baseball and football and helped the 2018 football team win the 6A state title; he even caught a touchdown in the championship game. As a senior in 2019 he went 8–2 with a 1.00 ERA and 91 strikeouts, was named the Illinois Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year, and committed to Texas Christian University.
The Pittsburgh Pirates drafted Priester 18th overall in 2019 and signed him for $3.4 million. He started in the minor leagues in the Gulf Coast League. The 2020 season was canceled due to the pandemic. In 2021 he played for Greensboro, going 7–4 with a 3.04 ERA and 98 strikeouts, and he was selected for the All-Star Futures Game. In 2022 he split time among Bradenton, Greensboro, Altoona, and Indianapolis, going 5–5 with a 3.29 ERA and 89 strikeouts.
Priester began 2023 with Indianapolis and was promoted to the majors on July 17, making his MLB debut for Pittsburgh against Cleveland. He pitched 5 1/3 innings in his first game, allowing seven runs in a loss. In 2024 he split time between the Pirates and Triple-A, finishing with a 2–6 record and a 5.04 ERA over 44 2/3 innings. On July 29, 2024 he was traded to the Boston Red Sox for Nick Yorke and was assigned to Worcester.
In April 2025 Priester moved from Worcester to the Milwaukee Brewers in a trade that included a minor-league player. He began producing strong results for Milwaukee, helping the team win many games in which he appeared. By September 2025 he had a long streak of winning decisions, contributing to franchise-record Brewers success. He and his wife Regan were married in November 2025 in Jupiter, Florida.
